OK, how can it seriously already be mid August? Where is this summer going! Please, stay. Then again, these Texas summers can really get to you with the triple digit weather. Honestly, it probably won’t be long until I start to wish sweater and boot weather was upon us…but in the meantime I’m going to enjoy all the fruits of summer, and you should too!
Speaking of fruits of summer, PEACHES!!! Today these bad boys are getting roasted with a drizzle of honey and fresh thyme from the garden. Mmmmm.
Peach season is in full swing in Texas with so many delicious local options to choose from! Peaches, peaches, everywhere; at the road side stand, at the farmers market, at the grocery store with endless options. Peaches, plums, nectarines, oh my!
Sadly, peach season doesn’t last forever, so make it count while it’s here. That being said, why not make a damn delicious cocktail with those fuzzy little lovelies. Shot of bourbon anyone? Oh wait, let’s not get distracted because the best is yet to come.
So, what does this cocktail include, besides peaches and bourbon that is? Well, it’s actually a very simple combo: bourbon, peaches, honey, simple syrup, ginger ale, and fresh thyme. So get in the kitchen and experiment by whipping up this delicious number.
Even better, slice up another peach for garnishment and add that to your drink for a boozy fruit treat that’s waiting for you at the bottom of your glass, ready to be devoured at the end of your drink!
Oh and did I mention I love to thrift shop and antique hunt? This beautiful, delicate jadeite plate cost me a total of $2! I love jadeite, so how could I possible pass on that deal?! Plus, it pairs wonderfully with the peaches so it’s a win win in my book.
